Adventures in Adaptation

Don’t you just hate it when Hollywood butchers your favorite book?

Me, too.

Anyone have a spare Benjamin?*

Bonus: IMDB is a strange place.

Bonus Bonus: There are even response reviews.

  1. * The extra thirty bucks will surely be used for a good cause and almost certainly absolutely not for a Kid in Aladdin’s Court / Kids of the Round Table double feature. []

That book is yet to be adapted properly, preserving the vibe of the original book.

But you know that Hollywood will never do this. Terry Gilliam has been trying for years without success. That’s because the original book is a satire on the way that the United States used ti go into other countries and impose its own values and generally meddle. Thank Deity that hasn’t happen since Twain’s day.

No, Pseudonym. The original book is all about titties and where babies come from. King Arthur’s Court is a euphemism for the womb. They had to change it to get a PG rating.  Ask Phillip K. Dick.
